Petrol prices in litres but manufacturers and road signs use miles or miles per gallon. Why?

The goverment and business is ripping you off. �1.06 sounds a whole lot better than the reality of �4.92 a gallon. You pay tax on the petrol you buy and then you pay VAT on the tax, you are taxed twice for the same thing! It's about time we did something an got rid of the nutters that have taken over the asylum as well as offering everyone else asylum.
