What is the history on darker colored people of Sweden?

Those people you talk about are called "Sami people" They are an indigenous group living in Scandinavia. I remember reading something a while ago about a president (can't remember his name) from back in the 16th century, he spoke about "Swarthy" Swedes. In fact, they were Sami people. Most of the ones I know of are light in complexion, but surely there are some dark ones.
