How to keep breakup from effecting self-esteem?

i think we're on the same boat. i look for anything to get me through the day. it gets slow when things get depressed like this so i take it a step at a time to get me out of the hole. another girl is too drastic but i had those thoughts but of another guy. makes me wanna call all my old bfs up and have a party lol
