I'm having a hard time meeting women and/or dating?

I don't embellish myself and really try to be sincere. Is this my problem?? I'm not a bad looking guy but I have a hard time meeting women. Any suggestions on how to break the ice and where's a good place to meet someone? Please don't give me a "club" because that's a meat market and not what I'm interested in. Besides, I can't dance. Also, I'm 38. Answers from men and/or women are appreciated.
